Changes to the Ward
The boundary commission has now set out the new ward boundaries that will come into force for the local elections in 2023. For Edgeley and Cheadle Heath, this means losing part of the Cheadle Heath area and gaining the residential roads on the other side of the reservoirs - Petersburg Rd, Vienna Rd, Stockholm Rd etc. Of course we are sorry that we will not be representing a large part of the ward that has been very supportive to us and the Labour Party over many years but the boundary commission's decisions are all about making sure each ward has more or less the same number of residents.
We welcome all residents living in the new part of the ward. For many people not being included in the Edgeley ward has seemed wrong and those that have contacted us have welcomed the changes. The map shows the new Edgeley Ward as it will be after May 2023.
Edgeley and Cheadle Heath Labour Party
Edgeley and Cheadle Heath Labour Party meets every month (apart from August and December). We meet at Stockport Labour Club on Lloyd Street, Heaton Norris SK4 1QP. The meetings are open to all Members and everyone is welcome, particularly new Members.
The meetings do have to deal with branch business but we have invited speakers, hear reports from our three Councillors and sometimes join with our neighbouring Branch, Davenport & Cale Green. We also hold fundraising events to pay for our leaflets, events and campaigning either as a Branch or joining with the Constituency Party.
If you would like more information about Edgeley & Cheadle Heath Labour Party then please email Sheila, Matt or Louise.
If you want to join Labour and fight for a more just and fair society then visit www.labour.org.uk and come and join us.
